Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers on what NetSuite costs, how long implementations take, how consultants price their work, and how engagements with us actually start — grounded in 2026 market numbers, with no sales runaround.

The short version: Oracle publishes no NetSuite price list, so cost depends on your edition, user count, and modules; implementation timelines typically run a few months and are driven by data, integrations, and complexity — not company size; and consultant rates vary by role and region. Every Nexify Growth engagement starts with a free consultation and is scoped individually. Want numbers for your own company? Run the pricing calculator. The 20 questions below go deeper on each.

Pricing & Costs

What NetSuite costs, and what consultants charge

Oracle publishes no price list. These are the real 2026 market ranges, before negotiation.

How much does NetSuite cost?

Oracle publishes no price list, so there is no single sticker price — every deal is negotiated. What you will pay is driven by the edition you need, how many full users you license, and which modules you turn on. Data volume and transaction lines matter too, since crossing certain thresholds moves you to a higher service tier. For current market ranges and an itemized estimate on your own profile, run the pricing calculator, or read the full NetSuite pricing guide.

How much does a NetSuite consultant charge per hour?

NetSuite consulting rates vary by role, region, and how technical the work is — functional configuration, SuiteScript development, and ongoing support each price differently, and US-based resources cost more than offshore ones that carry coordination and rework risk. Most project work is quoted as a fixed scope rather than open hourly time, so the hourly figure matters most for small change requests and support. See our consultant rates guide for current market numbers by role and region.

How much does a NetSuite implementation cost?

Implementation cost is driven by scope, not company size: how much data you migrate and how clean it is, how many integrations you need, how many legal entities you consolidate, and how much customization you want. A single-entity build with standard financials sits at the low end; multi-entity consolidation, revenue recognition, and several connectors sit at the high end. A common rule of thumb is that implementation runs a multiple of your annual license. Our implementation cost & timeline guide has the full market breakdown.

What are the hidden costs of NetSuite?

The costs buyers miss: the service-tier cliff (exceeding certain user or monthly transaction-line thresholds forces a paid tier jump), sandbox accounts, premium support, renewal uplift that compounds every year unless you cap it in the contract, integration connectors, and modules you were quoted but don't need. CRM is included free with every license — many buyers are sold what they already own. Read our pricing guide for the full hidden-cost list with current market figures.

Is NetSuite worth it for a small business?

For a small business with a single entity and simple accounting, NetSuite is often more than you need — the implementation and ongoing license rarely pay back against QuickBooks or Xero at that stage. NetSuite earns its cost when you hit real complexity: multi-entity consolidation, a month-end close over 10 days, ASC 606 revenue recognition, inventory across locations, or investor reporting after a raise. Below that threshold, we will tell you to stay put. See NetSuite vs QuickBooks for the switch triggers.

When is the best time to negotiate a NetSuite contract?

Oracle's fiscal year ends January 31, so December and January signings routinely get the most aggressive pricing — 15–25% off on 3-year terms, 30%+ on 5-year. Quarter-ends are the next-best windows. Beyond timing: cap the renewal uplift at 3–5% in the original contract (the default is 5–8% per year), buy only the modules you will implement this year, and confirm CRM is included rather than quoted. Send us your Oracle quote and we will tell you if it is fair, free.

Implementation

Timelines, phases, data, and rescues

What actually determines how long a project takes — and what to do when one has gone sideways.

How long does a NetSuite implementation take?

A standard NetSuite implementation takes 4–6 months. Phased approaches for simpler, single-entity businesses compress to 90–120 days. Complex multi-entity or heavily customized builds run 9–18 months. Timeline is driven by data quality, integration count, and customization appetite far more than headcount. The single biggest schedule risk is dirty source data — cleaning it before migration, not during, is what keeps a project on track. Details in our cost & timeline guide.

What are the phases of a NetSuite implementation?

We run a five-phase methodology: Discover (process mapping and requirements), Design (a solution design document plus a written scope, timeline, and cost), Build (configuration, SuiteScript, and integrations with weekly demos), Validate (user acceptance testing, data reconciliation, and role-based training), and Launch & Stabilize (go-live support and a hypercare window, typically 30 days). Named deliverables at each milestone mean you always know what is done, what is next, and what it costs. See the full methodology phase by phase.

How does NetSuite data migration work?

Data migration moves your customers, vendors, items, open transactions, and historical records into NetSuite. Scope ranges from balances-only (fastest, cheapest) to two years of history to full history, and effort scales with depth and source-data quality. The work is 80% cleanup and mapping, 20% loading — and it is where most implementations slip. We run multiple test loads before go-live so reconciliation is boring, not a fire drill. See implementation & migration.

Can NetSuite be implemented in 3 months?

Yes — a phased, single-entity implementation with clean data and few integrations can go live in 90–120 days. What makes three months realistic is disciplined scope: standard financials first, minimal customization, and a hard cutoff on new requirements. What breaks it is dirty source data, a growing integration list, and heavy customization. Multi-entity consolidation, ASC 606 revenue recognition, or six connectors will push you toward the standard 4–6 month range regardless of deadline pressure. Read why implementations fail to avoid the traps.

Can you rescue a failed NetSuite implementation?

Yes — rescue and optimization is a core service. About 75% of ERP projects get derailed (Gartner), and recovering a stalled or failed NetSuite implementation typically costs 40–60% less than re-implementing from scratch. We start with a free 30-minute health check to diagnose whether the real problem is data, configuration, scripts, or scope — then give you a straight read on whether to fix, finish, or rebuild. Sometimes the honest answer is that the current partner just needs clearer requirements. See optimization & rescue.

Working With Us

How engagements start and how we price

No fixed packages, no pressure. Here is exactly how the first conversation works.

How do engagements with Nexify Growth start?

Two ways. Run the free pricing calculator for an instant, itemized license and implementation estimate on your profile — no sales call required. Or book a free consultation: tell us your current system, user count, entity structure, and timeline, and we come back with something concrete. There is no obligation either way, and we will tell you plainly if NetSuite — or Nexify — is not the right fit for where you are. Our how we work page walks through what comes next.

How does Nexify Growth price its work?

Every engagement is scoped individually after a short discovery — there are no fixed packages. Project work such as implementations and integrations is quoted with scope, timeline, and cost in writing before we start. Ongoing work is scoped to your account across common market models: retainer, time-and-materials, or project-based. The pricing calculator gives you a market benchmark before you ever talk to us.

What information should I bring for a fast quote?

Five things get you a concrete answer fastest: your current system (QuickBooks, Sage, spreadsheets, or existing NetSuite), your full-user count and rough employee headcount, your number of legal entities and whether you operate in multiple currencies, the integrations you need (Shopify, Salesforce, a 3PL, banks), and your target go-live. If you already have an Oracle quote, send it — we will tell you whether the pricing and module mix are fair. The pricing calculator collects exactly these inputs.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. NetSuite is a cloud platform, and modern implementations are run remotely as standard practice across the industry — configuration, weekly demos, data test loads, user acceptance testing, and training all happen over screen share and shared documents. Working remotely keeps the right specialists on your project regardless of geography and keeps travel out of your bill. We work with companies across the United States this way. Get in touch to talk through your project.

Platform

SuiteScript, consultant roles, QuickBooks, and AI

The platform questions buyers ask most — answered without the jargon.

What is SuiteScript?

SuiteScript is NetSuite's JavaScript-based programming language for customizing and extending the platform. The current version, SuiteScript 2.1, powers custom business logic, automated workflows, and integrations that go beyond point-and-click configuration. It is what separates a functional consultant from a technical one: functional consultants configure NetSuite's native features, while SuiteScript developers write code for behavior NetSuite cannot do out of the box. Developer time typically costs more than functional work because the skills are scarcer — our consultant rates guide has current market numbers. See our development & integration service.

What is the difference between a functional and a technical NetSuite consultant?

A functional consultant translates business requirements into NetSuite configuration — chart of accounts, workflows, saved searches, reports, roles, and forms — without writing code. A technical consultant, or SuiteScript developer, builds the custom code and integrations that native configuration cannot handle. Most problems are solved with configuration; the technical work is for the last mile. Our consultants are techno-functional — fluent in both the business process and the platform — which removes the translation layer between what you need and what gets built. More on our consulting & business analysis page.

NetSuite vs QuickBooks — when should I switch?

Switch from QuickBooks to NetSuite when you outgrow single-entity accounting. The clearest triggers: a month-end close past 10 days (NetSuite users typically close in 3–5), multi-entity or multi-currency consolidation living in spreadsheets, ASC 606 revenue recognition, inventory across multiple locations, or investor reporting after a Series B. If none of those apply, QuickBooks is likely still the right tool — NetSuite's cost only pays back against real complexity. Our full NetSuite vs QuickBooks comparison lays out the seven signs.

Does NetSuite have AI?

Yes. NetSuite ships several AI features in 2026: Bill Capture (reads vendor bills from PDFs and emails), Text Enhance (generates and refines field text), the SuiteAnalytics assistant, and the N/llm module plus AI Connector for building your own generative-AI workflows on your data. Some of it earns its keep today; some is closer to demo-ware. The practical move is to turn on what saves real time — Bill Capture for AP is a common early win — and skip the rest until it matures. See AI in NetSuite for what to enable.

What is included free with NetSuite?

CRM is included free with every NetSuite license — sales force automation, marketing, and customer support — yet many buyers are quoted separate modules for capabilities they already own. Customer and vendor portal access is also free or nearly free. Knowing what is already bundled is one of the easiest ways to trim a NetSuite quote before you sign. Ask specifically which line items are CRM features you are entitled to at no additional cost. Our pricing guide covers what is and is not included.

Still have a question? These are the ones we hear most, but no two NetSuite situations are identical. Tell us your current system, user count, and timeline, and a NetSuite consultant will give you a straight answer — no obligation, and we will say so if you do not need us. Want a number first?
